I know, I know. I think I know everything.
"Liz, you don't know everything. Ok? So, stop forcing your opinions on everyone. If you don't, I'm going to have to "hide Liz Lux" on Facebook."
Go ahead. Make my day.
I'm not naive to the fact that some of my closest friends and family skip their daily dose of Vitamin LL from time to time. But today, I'm going to give you something else to wash down: I don't think I know everything.
Now, hurry up and save that to a Word file before I delete and deny.
The truth is, I don't know whether I have the truth yet.
Truth is a diamond. It has many facets. It's timeless. It gets dirty; but always again it gets polished. It's hard. It endures a cataclysm of heat and pressure, but ultimately is unearthed, unveiled as the most beautiful thing we've ever seen.
Without falsehood, truth would not shine so radiantly. So, in my quest to find the truth, should I stumble upon the false, so be it. It only means I'm getting closer to the diamond.
I have a written a poem describing the way I feel about what my mind and soul have gathered thus far along my journey. You can read it below. In the meantime, instead of hiding me, you may want to engage me...perhaps one day, together, we can share a diamond ring.
Gold Digger
I have been sifting through the dirt,
in search of gold.
Knowledge, intuition, and inference
lay bare in my pan.
I observe a world
under the sun.
I have been a shameless submitter to intellect.
I have heard the rebuke of the wise.
I collected many lustrous rocks while walking along the river.
They were about to wash away,
but I saw them in the light of day, and I thought
they might be gold, so
I gathered them.
I hold these stones in my fist, but someday I will relinquish them...
...one day when I understand their true nature.
Are these the golden nuggets of truth,
Or, the shiny trinkets of falsehood?
Let it be known, and I will release my fist.
Back to the earth, pebbles of a fool roll. The dice of a gambler.
Cast with a curse, I catapult a King's commodity, and my rock destroys my enemy.
