About Former Citizen
Former Citizen is an experiment in free thought and political philosophy. Furthermore, it is an attempt to get the People to take back their minds from the agenda-driven media and encroaching tyranny. A libertarian-leaning, American perspective blog, Former Citizen discusses politics and culture. It also provides a Freedom Movement Events Calendar to help build the libertarian/free-market community across America.
The readers of Former Citizen are intelligent folks who value tolerance, discussion, freedom, and peace. We are not all libertarians; some are quite the opposite. But, one thing is for sure; when visiting FormerCitizen.com, you are guaranteed to reach America's best friend, and Uncle Sam's worst enemy: The Individual.
How I Became a Former Citizen:
I was born in rural Pennsylvania in 1979. By the time I turned 21, I had lived in seven places, standing under various socioeconomic umbrellas, and journeying through changing living situations. I entertained myself by observing both the everyday and the eccentric folks around me, curiously studying their patterns, passions, and perspectives. I wondered about the forces that shaped the lives and minds of these American People, and in doing so, I was made to wonder about my own American life.
So far, I've come to believe that all People want to be free, that any step taken away from freedom is done so out of fear or ignorance. I believe it is the uplifting winds of freedom that allow an American spirit to soar its highest, and it is eternal vigilance that keeps an American spirit burning its brightest.
And, so I've dedicated Former Citizen to this American spirit. I am delighted to be a witness in this time and place, and pleased to share my testimony with you. I look forward to uncovering the threads that weave us together and the frays that leave us torn apart.
